Brag about yourself - what makes you great at what you do?

I am a writer with various fiction and nonfiction publications. I have two masters' degrees, teach at the college level, and have been tutoring writing skills, literature, and test prep for more than a decade. I conceived LifeStory when my grandfather asked to write his memoir. I interviewed him, recorded the interviews, transcribed them, and then edited his words so they read professionally and engagingly while sustaining his unique voice. Then I designed the book covers and inside, laid out pictures, and printed books for our whole family to enjoy. I got great feedback, and LifeStory was born.

Capturing the stories of our lives is important and beautiful. It is an excellent activity for seniors, particularly for those who lack mobility, or who may be on the cusp of losing their fondest memories.

These stories are also beneficial to current and future family. They provide a stronger sense of roots by showing that we are part of an ongoing family line that stretches back in time and charges forward with momentum. So many of the stories I have come across are important for historical reasons as well, stories from people who have lived through WWII and the Holocaust, for example. A LifeStory makes a loving gift for a family to give to an elder loved one, or for someone to give to their family.

Contacts in the field of elder care, but also anyone who appreciates the importance of legacy, of capturing stories and passing them on for future generations to have, enjoy, and learn from. Contacts involved with veterans, Holocaust survivors, cancer survivors, even young people with powerful stories to share.
